Real estate sales statistics for December 2011 have been published by MRIS*, here are the highlights:

Note: There are currently 2864 homes listed for sale in Montgomery County, that makes roughly a 4-5 month inventory. Sellers are getting 92% of list price on average, compared to 92% at this time last year. We’re seeing a stable real estate market in Montgomery County.
*Other notable sales statistics: 21% of the homes that sold were cash deals, reflecting a lot of investors. A typical number is 6-7%. Inventory is at historic lows. Demand is steady, causing a low absorption rate, even for winter.
